Another reviewer called it the Walmart of Middle Eastern food & I'd say that is pretty accurate. They have an incredible selection. Honestly, you'd think you stepped into a little grocer in Beirut or Cairo or something. That alone is a huge accomplishment for a little mom & pop grocer in Baltimore. Another plus is good service. No one is super friendly mind you, haha these guys don't play that but they'll help you out if u need something & checking out should be hassle free. Some gripes, they don't have a deli. Duuuuuuuuude, the olives & cheese variety is like so key in a place like this :( the owner did send me to the fridge section & they had prepacked goodies they were ok. Prices are ok. Not a crazy bargain that you'd be tempted to come out here to the hood to buy some items, but it's worth it if you're gonna stock up. Parking is a bit of a problem too. They don't have or share a lot. Only street parking. It's kind of a tough neighborhood so don't park way down the street in the dark & mosey down with ur new hookah tobacco & olives @ 9 pm. Nice find though & def worth checking out. P.s. Insane selection of hookah tobacco, pipes & other related paraphernalia in the back. I wasn't brave enough to venture down there but maybe next time.

Egyptian, Sudanese, Eritrean and Ethiopian-born friends wax poetic about the joys of eating fūl medames (cooked fava beans), often referred to simply as fūl. Then they tell me tthat here in the States hey use canned beans to make the dish they so love, a comfort food from the region with a history going back millennia. "Why don't you make fūl yourself? " I ask. No satisfactory reason has yet been recorded. I set out to prove that homemade fūl from scratch is superior, and learned the best fava beans for the purpose are small round Egyptian ones. But local supermarkets don't carry that sort of fava beans, not even the well-stocked, organic elite and expensive one does. But Koko Market, surely the best Middle Eastern grocer in the Baltimore area, had more types of fava beans than I have fingers, Whole, split, peeled, from Turkey, Canada - and there they were,- small and round fava beans from Egypt. I walked the aisles, these folks seem to have everything I saw in the souk-s, and prices you'd have to cross the Atlantic for! A separate room in back is set aside for shisha, hookah-s and cooking accessories. The gentleman who helped me was warmly welcoming and knowedgable. I trust this is the beginning of a long relationship. It's only a first impression, but this place is highly recommended.

This place is amazing of you are looking to plan an international, Mediterranean or Middle Eastern feast. They have all the ingredients you could ever need and you will pay much, much less than the specialty shops in the heart of downtown Baltimore. If you want authentic ingredients with great prices and excellent service visit KoKo market. The two gentlemen who manage the place are so helpful and will make recommendations for those of you just starting out with this type of cuisine. Oh and for you Hookah lovers, let me tell you I am a connoisseur and you can't beat their selection. They even have a hookah room set aside with all the supplies, tobacco and charcoal you will ever need. You would have to fly to Egypt or Morocco to beat their prices. Only downside is parking can be a challenge on a busy day.
